Martin Gaudreault was born in Roberval in 1959. He studied Media Art and Technology at the CÉGEP de Jonquière before studying Economic Development (specializing in downtown revitalization) at the Faculty of Architecture of Université Laval in Quebec City, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in 1993. He continued at the Université de Sherbrooke in Andragogical Intervention in 1996, then in Administration at the Université TÉLUQ in 1997.
He taught business start-up at the Cégep de Saint-Félicien before teaching vocational training at the Commission scolaire du Pays des Bleuets and the Centre des services aux entreprises in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. Since 2008, he has been the Executive Director of the Office d'habitation des 5 Fleurons.
Since 1978, he has been a volunteer in many organizations in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, including the Crossing of Lac-Saint-Jean by bike, where he is the official photographer of the event.
In 2012, he became a member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art and five years later, he received a silver medal from the Académie des Arts, Sciences, Lettres de Paris recognizing the quality of his work. In 2017, he became a member of the Mondial Art Academia with whom, the following year, he won the International Prize for Professionals in Art and a Silver Medal. At the same time, he obtained the title of Academic Knight at the Mondial Art Academia and was appointed Delegate for Photography for the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region.
In 2018, he was the first photographer to be admitted to the Académie internationale des beaux-arts du Québec (AIBAQ) and became a member of the Society of Canadian Artists (SAC). In 2019, he became a professional member of the International Collective of Artists ArtZoom (CIAAZ). In June 2019, he was inducted as a Member of the Order of Blueberry for Arts and Culture, a recognition that highlights his influence on the artistic and cultural scenes of Canada and Europe.
Martin Gaudreault exhibited in 2017 and 2018 at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris (France) with the Société nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He also participates in exhibitions in Canada and France, notably with Artistes du Monde in Cannes, which aims to confirm talents recognized under the aegis of Marina Picasso. He also exhibits at the Galerie la Têt de l'Art in Forbach in the exhibition "Canada meets Europe". This exhibition will have its Canadian counterpart a few months later with the exhibition "Europe meets Canada" at Galerie Le Livart in Montreal.
The photographer from Roberval exhibited in Italy, from 2017 to 2019, at the Merlino Bottega D'arte Gallery in Florence. In 2018, he participated in the National Open Art in London, the International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence and the Art Shopping in Paris. His international exhibitions are intensified by a double presence at the Musée d'art contemporain VR 3D (MAC VR 3D) in Longwy (France) in 2019/2020 with the exhibitions "Instinct" and "Vibration" in which he represents Canada as a photographer.
Martin Gaudreault has a permanent exhibition at Galerie Urbania in Quebec City. In recent years, he has presented major solo exhibitions to the public, including "Enchevêtrement de lumières" in Roberval and "La ligne du temps" at the Galerie d'Art Urbania in Quebec City.
In 2019, Martin Gaudreault was appraised by an art expert who certified his value as a photographer on the art market. It is indexed at ArtPrice, the world leader in art market information. It can also be found in the Guid'Arts Cotation Artistes in France and in the Répertoire des artistes canadiens Lareau au Canada.
Through the diversity of its publications, its work has been disseminated in some 60 countries to date.
